At United Way Ottawa, we offer a training program for workplaces interested in running a workplace campaign.
Depending upon the size and nature of your workplace, you may need to fill some or all of the following roles:
- Employee Campaign Coordinator to lead and manage the campaign
- Last Year’s Coordinator to offer valuable advice
- Deputy Employee Campaign Coordinator to act in the absence of the Employee Campaign Coordinator, attend meetings, take on key assignments and gather information that will be helpful when he/she leads next year’s campaign
- Labour Chair to obtain the endorsement of local unions, help with fundraising strategies that appeal to labour, select union canvassers and speak to groups that have union members
- Training Chair to arrange training for your canvassers (we will help you with this)
- Public Relations Chair to be responsible for advertising public events and for raising the campaign’s visibility
- Finance Chair to ensure that an appropriate financial system is in place, collect donations from your canvassers and remit donations to United Way
- Retiree Coordinator to contact and solicit retired employees
- Special Events Chair to coordinate the special events that will supplement your fundraising efforts
- Site Chair (representation from each site, department or floor of your workplace)
