You may think of United Way as an organization that collects donations and distributes funds to agencies that help people in need. And you’d be right – but just partly.
What’s missing is the fundamental change we help to create – change that touches the lives of many and that alters for the better the conditions in which we all live. United Way plays a role that goes far beyond funding programs. By focusing on a number of key community priorities, with strategies that include investment in programs and services, convening, research, and public policy and advocacy, we can achieve lasting and measurable change in our community.
