Speakers’ Bureau
At the very heart of Be United is the concept of sharing takes place in many ways and on many levels. One way to share is to join our Speakers’ Bureau and speak up publicly on the impact a United Way program has had on you. Our Speakers’ Bureau is home to a broad cross-section of the community — people who have volunteered with us, staff delivering frontline services in community organizations, donors and people whose lives have improved because of the work we do. As a member of our Speakers’ Bureau, you will receive the training you require to become an effective communicator.
Lives Changed
Our story is one of people, people whose lives have been changed as a result of the work we do to improve our community. The stories are from people speaking up, telling about personal growth and development, generosity and gratitude. You can use these stories to speak up, to demonstrate how we all make change happen.
Become a Partner
Another way of speaking up is to become a partner with United Way. Our partners include all levels of government, civic institutions, social agencies, volunteer agencies, labour groups, research organizations, public policy forums and the business community. As a partner you will have opportunities to marry the strength of your brand with the reach and appeal of ours. And in the mind of the public you’ll be seen as a good corporate citizen, determined to make change happen.
Join our Social Media Revolution
Social media is changing the way we communicate and interact with one another. They have the power to create new communities, to bring existing communities closer and to give us an entirely new way of speaking up. We believe it’s important to harness the power of social media for the immediacy and benefit they provide and for how they help us Be United.
