Monday, October 6, 2008, Ottawa - United Way/Centraide Ottawa welcomed a new addition to its Senior Management Team today. Carole Gagnon assumed the role of Vice President, Investor Development, following a four-year stint as Senior Director, Capacity Building Strategies at United Way/Centraide.
"I'm thrilled to take on this new role," says Ms. Gagnon. "This is a very exciting time at United Way/Centraide, as donors become more and more engaged in making investments that will have a significant impact in our community for years to come."
Ms. Gagnon brings with her more than 20 years of experience in both the private and non-profit sectors. In her previous position as Senior Director, Capacity Building Strategies at United Way/Centraide, she led the development of the Internationally Trained Workers Partnership, oversaw the Hire Immigrants Ottawa project and directed the implementation of community building initiatives and activities. Prior to joining United Way/Centraide in 2002, Ms. Gagnon was an organizational development consultant, and a training specialist/facilitator for Newbridge Networks.
Ms. Gagnon also brings with her a tremendous commitment to the voluntary sector. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Le Regroupement des gens d'affaires de la Capitale nationale (RGA) and previously served on the Board of The Good Companions, was Chair of the City of Ottawa's Seniors Advisory Committee and of the Britannia Community Coalition.
As Vice President, Investor Development, she will identify potential investors and match their investment interests with community development opportunities. She will also play a significant role in setting the strategic direction of United Way/Centraide as part of the Senior Management Team.
