Run a Workplace Campaign

At United Way/Centraide Ottawa, we offer a training program for workplaces interested in running a workplace campaign.

Depending upon the size and nature of your workplace, you may need to fill some or all of the following roles:

  • Employee Campaign Coordinator to lead and manage the campaign
  • Last Year’s Coordinator to offer valuable advice
  • Deputy Employee Campaign Coordinator to act in the absence of the Employee Campaign Coordinator, attend meetings, take on key assignments and gather information that will be helpful when he/she leads next year’s campaign
  • Labour Chair to obtain the endorsement of local unions, help with fundraising strategies that appeal to labour, select union canvassers and speak to groups that have union members
  • Training Chair to arrange training for your canvassers (we will help you with this)
  • Public Relations Chair to be responsible for advertising public events and for raising the campaign’s visibility
  • Finance Chair to ensure that an appropriate financial system is in place, collect donations from your canvassers and remit donations to United Way/Centraide
  • Retiree Coordinator to contact and solicit retired employees
  • Special Events Chair to coordinate the special events that will supplement your fundraising efforts
  • Site Chair (representation from each site, department or floor of your workplace)
