There is no greater testament to the community we build and the lives we change than the first-hand accounts of the members of our Speakers’ Bureau. Our speakers — people who have benefited from a frontline program or service; volunteers at community non-profit agencies; staff working on the front lines in the community — put a face and a story behind every dollar donated. The common thread that unites them all is that each one of them has witnessed the impact that a United Way/Centraide-supported program has on our community.

The Speakers’ Bureau provides a unique opportunity for you to promote your organization and the work you do at the community level. Participants receive 2-1/2 hours of communications training, at United Way/Centraide Ottawa’s office.

TO REGISTER AS A SPEAKER YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

• Be a recipient, a staff member or volunteer of a United Way/Centraide Ottawa supported agency or program
• You participate in a Speakers’ Bureau workshop
• If you are a new speaker it is mandatory to attend a workshop to participate with the Speakers’ Bureau
• If you are a returning speaker we highly recommend to take the workshop as a refresher

These workshops, which are facilitated by a volunteer professional, provide valuable communications training and offer an opportunity for agencies to share their experiences with others while increasing awareness and visibility about their program and about United Way/Centraide Ottawa.

SPEAKER REGISTRATION AND WORKSHOP ENROLLMENT:

All speakers new and returning must register to provide or update their bio and any pertinent information.  There is no fee to register or to enroll in a workshop. Workshop dates are provided on the on-line registration form and new speakers must select a workshop.  Due to space limitations and workshop planning purposes, we encourage you to register early.
