United Way Ottawa and Volunteer Ottawa/Bénévoles Ottawa are proud to present Community Action Days (formerly Day of Caring ). As an expansion of the original Community Action Days program, Community Action Days offers more opportunities and flexibility to organizations and volunteers who wish to get involved.

WHAT’S NEW?

• THE NAME — COMMUNITY ACTION DAYS (CAD)
  The continued success of this annual event, with more and more interest expressed by both local organizations and by volunteers, is behind this exciting change. Keep reading to find out more! 
• THE FORMAT — FOUR DAYS TO CHOOSE FROM
  With four Community Action Days this year, from September to December 2009, you get more choices. Take part in one or all four — it’s up to you.
• THE PROGRAM — NO MORNING PROGRAM
  Each Community Action Day will begin with volunteers arriving directly at their chosen agency.
• AND MUCH MORE!
  Community Action Days offers four opportunities for workplace and government employees to volunteer their time, skills and efforts to help community organizations across the city.

The volunteer opportunities are endless: entertaining clients, gardening, sorting clothing/food donations, reading to children/seniors, providing IT support, conducting market research, planning an event, offering administrative help, cooking or serving food to clients ... you name it!
