Community Impact Councils
Our Impact Councils are made up of more than 100 volunteers with specialized community knowledge each reflecting one of our six impact areas:
- Promoting healthy development for Children and Youth
- Reducing isolation and enhancing the quality of life for Seniors
- Reducing barriers and increasing participation for People with Disabilities
- Strengthening Individuals and Families in times of need and crisis
- Reducing barriers and iincreasing engagement for New Canadians and Immigrants
- Strengthening Agency, Neighbourhood and Community Capacity.
We are also investing in a special initiative focused on the Aboriginal community in Ottawa.
The volunteers on these councils work with United Way/Centraide to guide community investment decisions; make recommendations to the Community Services Cabinet; connect and consult with the community; set indicators for measuring progress and success; and develop plans for community solutions.
