Administrator, Accounts Receivable

Position Status : Permanent, full-time

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

The Administrator, Accounts Receivable is responsible for coordinating and performing the day to day accounts receivable functions including invoicing, deposits and collections for company payroll pledge payments, sponsorship, special event income, grants and other campaign and trade receivables.

The Administrator is responsible for ensuring that bank deposits are processed accurately and on a timely basis, recorded to the appropriate invoice or revenue account and ensuring the accurate pay down of donation pledges in the donation management system.  This position is expected to reconcile the Accounts Receivable sub-ledger to both the General Ledger and the donation management system outstanding receivables.  This position also has administrative responsibility and accountability for ensuring that organizations pay on a timely basis and following up on overdue receivables.

Qualifications:

      • University or College degree or High School diploma supplemented with specialized courses in accounting and related software.
      • Experience with accounting systems and other financial analysis/processing tools.
      • Two to three years prior A/R or related experience in a complex and high volume revenue generating organization is required.
      • Not-for-profit experience would be an asset.
      • Good knowledge of accounting processes and systems, particularly in relation to accounts receivable and revenue recognition.
      • Computer proficiency and technological skills, especially with accounting systems, spreadsheets, and word processing software and reporting tools.
      • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize conflicting demands
      • Knowledge of banking processes and deposits.
      • Excellent oral and written skills.
      • Customer service experience to handle donor or corporate calls.
      • Bilingualism is an asset.
