Position Status : Permanent, full-time
Position Summary and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Giving Systems, the Manager, Retirees Program and Direct Response, is responsible for implementing the strategic directives of the Retiree and Direct Response Programs, in accordance with the organization’s mission, goals and objectives.
The Manager works closely with the three operating divisions of Resource Development - Individual and Strategic Giving; Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC) and Community Campaign.

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education. Degree/diploma in Management, Business, Humanities, Communications, Fundraising and/or other relevant degree, and/or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three to five years experience in fundraising, management and volunteer management.
- Knowledge of United Way/Centraide Ottawa and the GCWCC.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement plans and procedures.
- Initiative and flexibility.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of and/or experience in direct response marketing is a strong asset.
- Experience in tracking, reporting on, and analyzing direct response appeals, revenues and program results (or similar experience).
- Strong project management and time management skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated public speaking, leadership and facilitation skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with and build relationships with annual donors and volunteers.
- Knowledge of volunteerism and philanthropy; as well as individual giving/annual giving.
- Computer literacy in Word Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with database management. Raiser’s Edge a definite asset.
- Bilingualism in both official languages, both written and spoken, would be considered an asset.
- CFRE designation would also be an asset.
